Chrysanth
Type: Capital City | Population: The largest in the Empire | Region: Chrysanthia
The capital city of the Neuranian Empire, built in the heart of Chrysanthia, where two rivers meet. Named after Verdallia Chrys, first Emprix of the Chrysian Empire. This is where laws are made, broken, debated, and occasionally enforced; usually in that order.
"Chrysanth has everything: culture, commerce, crime, and bureaucracy. The last one is free; the others cost extra."
— Rilthora "I'd Prefer Not To Give My Last Name" vel Hanna
Overview
Chrysanth sprawls across the Sunward Plains that extends from the sunward shore of Lake Lyre to Bria’s Wood, a city that has grown continuously for millennia. What began as a settlement has become the undisputed center of Imperial power, culture, and commerce. Every Great House maintains a presence here, every major institution has its headquarters, and every ambitious soul eventually finds their way to its streets.
Key Features:- Seat of Imperial government
- Home of the Great Library
- Headquarters of all major Houses
- Center of Imperial trade and finance
- More history per square foot than advisable
Population: By far the largest city in the Empire. Exact counts are complicated by visitors, transients, and people who’d rather not be counted.
Notable Locations
-
The Imperial Palace
Function: Government | Access: Limited Seat of House Neuros and the imperial throne. Impressive, intimidating, and deliberately difficult to navigate without authorization.
-
The Great Library
Function: Knowledge Repository | Access: Scholars Welcome The Empire’s premier collection of knowledge, as far as House Neuros knows.
-
Neuros University
Function: Education | Access: Scholars Welcome Originally named Chrysanth University, this was one of the few name changes House Neuros attempted after their rise to power that actually stuck. Second only to Argent Sol Memorial University in Solanth for arcane education, and the school of choice for those seeking to become involved in the Empire’s political machinery.

Governance
Power Structure
Emprix of the Neuranian Empire: Jania vel Niem (House Neuros)
Other Notable Power Centers:- High Commander Georgina vel Usha (House Neuros) — Imperial Guard
- Head Dean Geoffrey Adelson (House Canae) — Neuros University
- [Councillor / Fist] Siobhan O’Calla (House Aeth) — City Council
Chrysanth operates under a complex administrative structure:
- Imperial Authority: Theoretically supreme
- Imperial Guard: Part city watch, part bodyguards, part military cabinet
- House Representatives: Protect House interests
- City Council: Handles practical governance
- Neighborhood Councils: Local matters
This creates the remarkable inefficiency that somehow keeps a massive city functioning.
