The Imperial Palace
Type: Neighborhood | District: Topper’s Hill | City: Chrysanth
Elitist. Secretive. Paranoid.
Marble hallways wider than roads. Servants scurrying to-and-fro. Ghosts of familial crimes.
Overview
The Imperial Palace is large enough to be its own neighborhood. The first three floors are mostly enchanted glass, leaving eight spoked hallways with an unobstructed view of the throne room at the center. Between these eight spokes, rooms have standard stone walls for privacy. The throne itself is immense and crystalline, designed to catch and reflect light so that it can be seen glistening from nearly any perspective around the outside of the palace.
The second floor houses the offices of House Neuros officials involved in the day-to-day management of the Empire.
Landmarks
-
The Throne Room
At the heart of the palace, visible through enchanted glass from eight directions. The crystalline throne catches every angle of light, a deliberate reminder of who rules here. Indoor gardens flank the space below, visible through the glass floor of the ballroom above.
-
The Ballroom
Up three spiral staircases and two lifts. 360° windows, the entire city stretched out at your feet. In the center, a raised dais where only the Emprix and their personal guests stand. Through the glass floor, the gardens and throne room spread beneath you.
-
The Scullery
West wing basement. Where the palace actually runs. A nearly hidden route connects directly to the ballroom above, so servants can appear and vanish as if by magic. (Sometimes they actually do use magic.)
