Okay, I've fixed the bugs in my chat app, now I just need to figure out end-to-end encryption. Watched a bunch of Computerphile videos on the subject. Now looking up current best practices and modern algorithms. Hopefully by tonight I will have end-to-end encryption. Also, recently discovered if I need a really good cry I can just catch up on reading El Goonish Shive, pretty much guaranteed to be a tearjerker in there somewhere.
